Wallace 社区学院 seeks to provide accessible quality educational opportunities, promote economic growth, and enhance the quality of life of its constituents.
The Institutional Effectiveness (IE) Office directs and coordinates ongoing, 集成, and institution-wide, research-based planning of the College. The Office ensures that the strategic and operational planning processes incorporate a systematic review of the institutional mission, 目标, 和结果, resulting in continuous improvement in institutional quality and demonstrates that the College is effectively accomplishing its mission.
The IE Office provides the information and data expertise to assist units at all levels in measuring and improving student learning 和结果; facilitate continuous improvement in all areas; and accumulate, 生成, communicate and disseminate institutional information to support assessment of student learning.
The IE Office exists to help decision-makers make more informed decisions. Through the collection, 解释, 分析, 使用, and dissemination of institutional data, we can facilitate the College’s ability to evaluate and demonstrate the effectiveness of the initiatives so that decisions truly enable the best opportunities for our students.
This focus on continuous improvement of quality and effectiveness is also underlined by the fact that institutional planning and effectiveness is one of the fourteen sections of the principles of accreditation. The respective sections read as follows:
Institutional Effectiveness – Section 7.1: “The institution engages in ongoing, 全面的, and 集成 research-based planning and evaluation processes that (a) focus on institutional quality and effectiveness and (b) incorporate a systematic review of institutional 目标 和结果 consistent with its mission”.
Student Achievement — Section 8.1: “The institution identifies, 评估, and publishes 目标 和结果 for student achievement appropriate to the institution’s mission, the nature of the students it serves, and the kinds of programs offered. The institution 使用s multiple measures to document student success.
